Exclamation Timing Out due to PB

For some reason, the past few days I have been experiencing problems with my "Punk Buster" client on Battlefield 2. Everytime I am playing, after about approximately 30 minutes, I get a Punk Buster Ban for 2 minutes saying, failed to update Punk Buster Client or I get kicked saying, Dropped out due to Punk Buster Update or something, can anyong tell me whats going on? I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem?

Got this from a clan mate.
    http://games.internode.on.net/forums...ic.php?t=56028

I am Reposting this seeing as NOONE can be bothered doing a forum search for possible fixes

    First goto
www.evenbalance.com and download and run PBweb.exe this is a maual update for punkbuster and willl write over the existing PB install
while doing this shut down any background programs you have running in task manager(BF2 is the biggest ram hog around using in excess of 700mb so the more ram it can use the better.)

second goto /my documents/battlefield2/mods/bf2/cache and delete the folders inside (this is just the cache for your video settings (it will need to optimise vid settings as it starts a net game again but is a small price to pay for the reults. )

third when ingame goto the console using the ` key (located just above TAB) and type
pb_sleep 500 (this makes Punkbuster check every 500seconds instead of every 20 seconds
    then type
pb_writecfg this will make PB keep that setting.

after all this i had very minor lag and stuttering and only saw connection problems detected a few times ingame.

once i had done all that i thought i might try ad get rid of it all together and stuck in another 512 of ram which took me upto 1.5gb of ram and only saw the connection probs in the first few seconds of the game
and never again. when i alt tabbed out i found that BF2 was making the system use a total of just over 900mb of memory(thats windows progs too)
so till EA do the patch to help combat this problem i hope these tips help you.)

(edit fixed a spelling mistake)Oh and i will update and add more when i can figure out more)

Just a general rule, I found I sometimes get pb errors on in BF2 if I have Steam running at the same time. So make sure steam is not running.
