    Xbox360 networking

I made the mistake of buying a XBOX360. so i can play Fable2 in a months time.

anyhows what i want to do is use my PC to supply my XBOX360 with an internet connection.

I have a wireless router in another room which obvisouly links to my PC easy as for my net access.

I have tried to get cable to run from the xbox to the pc and use the pc as the connection for the xbox to the net.

I thought this would have been a matter of tweaking my network settings to to this.

I still cant get the xbox to link to the pc.

IS this an option and am i too tired and angry to get it to work right just now.

Do i just need to keep messing with my network settings until the pc and the xbox360 work together.

BTW there is NO option to run the cable to the router, and Im definately NOT spending $160-$180 on a wireless adaptor for the XBOX360.

    any pointer greatly appreciated!
If you find yourself in the company of a halfling & an ill-tempered Dragon remember, you just have to outrun the halfling.

Bridge your ethernet and wireless networks (ie. click one in network connections then ctrl+click the other... then right-click > bridge). That should share the net between your wireless (which I'm assuming you're getting your net from) with your ethernet. Make sure both networks are within the IP range of each other and both have the same subnet mask thingy.

I think... I'm not networking genius that's for sure. But in theory it should work.

Post back here if you're having dramas still and I'll MSN ya through it. Til I lose MY temper and then you'll have to get someone else to help. :P

Usually you'd need a crossover cable to connect two devices without a router, but I'm pretty sure the 360 has an inbuilt switcher... so you'll be ok.
