• EA closes Melbourne studio

Merely a fortnight ago one of Australia's most renowned development studios, Team Bondi, went into receivership. Now there's news of another Australian studio closure, that of Melbourne's Visceral Games, an Electronic Arts subsidiary. A source has told Kotaku that Patrick Soderland, EA vice president, had concluded that the an in-development 360 title would not be profitable, deciding to can the project and the studio.

The Melbourne staff, who had previously worked Dead Space, Godfather 2, and Dante’s Inferno are expected to be informed of the decision today. It is understood that EA’s other Australian studios, Firemint and Iron Monkey, will not be affected.
