    There's no time to waste, quickly now, check your Battle.net inbox! Rumour has it that the 2.7GB closed beta allows you to play all of the five classes — barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk, and demon hunter — through the entirety of Act I, as well as take on the Skeleton King. "They'll also get to meet up with some of the artisans, followers, and other key characters from Sanctuary, and try out the game's skill and crafting systems."

    "The fiery gates leading to the Burning Hells have begun to swing open, and the Diablo III beta test is officially underway. Invitations to participate in the beta test are now being delivered to the chosen heroes. As with beta tests for other Blizzard Entertainment games, the testing process for Diablo III will occur in phases. In addition to selecting players who have opted in via their Battle.net accounts, we’ll also be providing keys through beta promotions and giveaways -- stay tuned for more info."

      The PC series is traditionally controlled only with a mouse and keyboard, with players moving their character with clicks of the mouse. But Wilson says a more direct control method also works well.


      "One of the reasons why we're exploring the idea of a console version of Diablo 3 because we feel that the controls and the style of the game lend itself to a console," he told our colleagues at PC Gamer.


      "With some of our early experiments in putting a direct control scheme into the game via a 360-like analogue controller, I've been 'Oh this feels even better, with direct control...'", he added.
