• Nvidia release BF3 drivers that boost frames by 38%

    Just in time for the availability of Battlefield 3's early access beta tonight at 10pm comes a new set of BF3 beta optimised drivers from Nvidia to match. These DICE-recommended drivers are said to boost performance by up to 38% in the gorgeous new shooter, which I'm sure you will agree is a very big deal.


    What's New in Version 285.38
    • Increased performance in Battlefield 3 by up to 38%.
    • Improved overall stability and image quality in Battlefield 3.
    • Improved compatibility and performance for RAGE.
    • Added or updated SLI profiles for Battlefield 3, Dead Island, Diablo III, Dragon Age 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third.
    • Fixed a performance regression in 285.27 beta running Crysis 2 (DirectX 9)


    Windows Vista/Windows 7 64-bit Issues Resolved
    • GeForce 500 series: Battlefield: Bad Company 2-the game stutters in certain maps after several minutes of gameplay.
    • GeForce GTX 560 Ti: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 -there is corruption on the edges of some objects when Transparency AA is enabled.
    • [SLI], 3DTV Play, GeForce 500 series: With SLI enabled using 3DTV Play, the mouse cursor flickers and shakes on the main menu of various 3D games, such as Crysis 2, Battlefield Company 2, Dues X, and Civilization 5.

      Zac; keep an eye on NVIDIA & Laptop News | Latest NVIDIA drivers and related news | laptopvideo2go.com - so far they've only hacked the INF for 285.16 for driver installation on laptops, but 285.38 should follow shortly.

      Update: The laptop version of the drivers is in beta now and is released

      AMD has already released an update ahead of Battlefield 3, while Nvidia has announced that they’ll release new drivers the day before Battlefield 3 ships, on the 24th of October. The new Nvidia drivers will be the final version of the beta drivers we saw and used for the Battlefield 3 beta. The updated drivers include numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements tailored for Battlefield 3, according to Nvidia.
