• The Battlefield 3 early access beta is live, with problems

    The Battlefield 3 early access beta has been up and running for a few hours now. For those that are already playing impressions seem very positive. A marked improvement over Bad Company 2, it's proving a thoroughly enjoyable experience even without vehicles. The weapons all feel great and importantly so does the movement. Oh, and Battlelog is really neat.

    It's not all peaches and cream however, with numerous eligible readers here at GU not receiving their beta keys at all. EA Australia have requested those with problems contact support, so head on over, log-in and get a live chat going: http://helporigin.force.com/. If no one is available, head to EA support here: http://support.ea.com/.

    Unfortunately attempts seem futile at this stage, with responses such as the following:

    Gagan:     Well the beta is not launched yet and we do not have any such official update about the launch time of the early access.
    Gagan: We do not have any such official update about the official time of launch.

    Harshdeep: We are glad to see your excitement for the Battle! You will get the Early Access Beta Key today; however, as of now we don't have any ETA. Please wait for only a few hours and you will get an Email with the key in your account. We appreciate your patience and I hope to see you soon in the Battlefield!
    Harshdeep: We understand your disappointment. As a small token of appreciation of your patience, I'm giving you 15% discount coupon which would be valid for a month and can be redeemed on Origin Store. Please keep checking your inbox and we'll meet in the Battlefield!

      the only disappointment is that the beta has only one map and there are no vehicles

      I saw that map go all the way to the last N-COM twice tonight!

      Also; meet one of the first hackers to grace the game:

      H      ad a nice little method for continually spawning behind the enemy team with a shotgun.

      in that map, i felt like i was the only one destroying the m-coms (seemed others had the same idea - *plant* - someone in mumble: "was that aegis planting again?") ;P

      I've only destroyed two M-COMS; as I can never get close enough to them usually. There's too many dudes hiding in bushes that kill me in two bullets :/

      You sure he didnt have a mobile spawn point? one of my squad guys had one last night .. u can spawn on it once its deployed on the field.

      Nah, I watched him spawn with the rest of the team several times. His Origin game group are hackers as well. Look at the avatar for that fox guy - says it all.

      so i've downloaded the beta but now when i try to join a server it gives me an error of my bf3.exe that has stopped working any idea's?

      Restart computer and give it another crack, if that doesn't work a quick google of the specific error should give you some answers

      First night of trying to load the beta it told me it cost 4657932783928 microsoft points. I did not enjoy. Now that it is officially downloaded, it "Cannot connect to EA online." WTF?????
