• Aliens vs Predator special editions on the way

For those of you following the comments in recent Aliens vs Predator news items; the ban was appealed and has been lifted in Australia. To recap my thoughts; the Australian ratings board is spineless, and Rebellion are hypocrites. Rebellion previously and openly stated they agreed with the board's refusal of classification, as it's simply not a game created for minors. They then asked for reconsideration anyway, and the board approved it upon review.

Now we have a game rated for adults everywhere else in the world, available to minors in Australia. If Mr. Atkinson is right about anything, it's that our board is inconsistent and clearly can't be trusted. We needed a big publisher with a big game refuse to modify an R18+ game to meet Australian MA15+ standards to get an R18+ rating over the line.

So, AVP is coming to Australia, and it's coming in a range of flavours. I'm sure most of the readers here will pick it up on Steam, but for those of you that love collecting junk, you're in for a treat. You'll get a steel-box and 4 exclusive multiplayer maps (what?) with the Survivor Edition, or that plus prestige packaging, replica mouldable facehugger, Weyland logo material sleeve badge and 3D lenticular card with the Hunter Edition. They're priced at $109.95 and $129.95 respectively.
