In JB Hi-Fi's annual meeting earlier in 2011, chairman Patrick Elliott stated in response to a question that the business was prepared to move to a “direct import model” if suppliers didn’t reduce the cost price of their goods. That day has come and it's good news for consumers.Shopping with JB Hi-Fi online you can now get a ton of cheaper DSLR cameras and accessories. For an example of the price difference, a Nikon D3100 and lens kit costs $777 at your local HB HI-FI store, or $596 through their online shop.
With any luck we'll soon see this roll out to PC equipment and peripherals. A Logitech G27 racing wheel can be purchased as cheap as $235 in the USA, but in Australia still holds a RRP of $499, being sold only as cheap as $400 in most instances.
