Bioshock 2 developer, 2K Marin, has spoken to assure fans that the wearily anticipated multiplayer mode has been tailored with the utmost care, and was not simply an after-thought. When
speaking with PC Zone, senior producer Melissa Miller said "Multiplayer is a big part of Bioshock 2 and it certainly wasn't something where we thought: Oh, let's just shove a multiplayer mode on." She goes on to explain that attention to detail was given to ensure that the experience really felt a part of the Rapture universe and loved gameplay mechanic...
The game has already received a handful of high-score reviews. PSM3 awarded the follow-up 93%, saying it "tops the original in terms of storytelling and combat." PC Gamer delivered an almost-impressive 90%, telling that "the mechanics that made the original BioShock such fun return, better than before," and "it's still better written than pretty much anything else out there."
