Bad Company 2 beta gets patched

I've decided after last nights play on BC2 and ME2 that server issues aside my rig was not up to it.

I got away with it playing MW2 but we all know that's cause it was a port not a dedicated PC coded game.

So what did I buy you ask...

• Intel i5-750 (good overclocker apparently).
• Gigabyte P55A-UD4P (furture proof myself with its USB3.0).
• 4G DDR3 1600 Corsair XMS3 RAM.
• HIS ATI 5770 1G GPU (seems to be the bang for buck choice atm plus can do DX11 for when the time comes).

Case, PSU HDD's etc all remain

I'm going to run some stress tests and beanchmarks with the old rig and then the new to see what kind of performance difference I'll be enjoying.

If people think I've made a mistake in one of the purchases you have about 2 hours to tell me not to remove it from the box!

After some tweaking it seems my rig handles it well enough.
Core 2 Duo 2.63 6gb DDR2 Corsair and a 1gb 9600GT.
Did all the tweaks as well as dropping the res to 1280 x 1024 and also found Nvidia released an updtaed driver 192.21 a short time ago. So pumped the res back up and seems to going fine.
Even so today I managed to get my hands on a GeForce® GTX 260 Sonic 216 SP (1792MB). Will install on Monday and may even give the system a spit and polish, allways good for a performance boost.

My old rig got a 3Dmarks06 score of 4733 with the new video card alone it raised to 8685 and with all the new parts I'm getting 16012, a frickin huge improvement. That's before I even play around with the settings, drivers and overclocking. I'm pretty happy.

Well done mate.....I am due for a complete overhaul but in reality the graphics card could have survived a little longer. Need to update my primary drive soon...aaaahhhh hate upgrading it usually costs me a mint because I do it well and with the view of not having to need it for a while.

my laptop is a i7-720QM (quad 1.6ghz), 2x2GB ram, 260gtx... running it at 1920x1080 without a hitch.

except, for some reason every fucking 5 mins i lose connection to the master server and get DCed... FUCKING ANNOYING!

That happened to me 3 or 4 times last night but only when I was respawning, too right its annoying.

Right now I cant even get the game to start! I can play CS:S and Mass Effect 2 but Steam hangs when launching BC2.

Medium detail sure puts a massive strain on my Ati 4670. My card overheats then all my usb devices (keyboard, mouse) lose power then i have to let the pc cool down.

As i have been playing today. I found a bug where the defending team can destroy the mcom stations with Recon c4 kit. So far its been actually fun pissing ppl off lols

defending team can destroy them with anything explosive, including the fixed emplacement TOWs. not sure about grenades as i only threw one at it and it bounced too far away ><

Hand grenades seem like a waste of time, and knifing feels really clunky - they're my two biggest gripes with this game right now. Other than that, I'm having a riot of a time.

I've unlocked all the beta-available weapons for all classes, as well as most additional abilities. And until retail (where I can hopefully get a better assault rifle), I've settled on the sniper - sniping stray soldiers from a distance and calling in mortar strikes on tanks is just too much fun. And I'll pilot a chopper whenever I can too.

i found an empty server the other day and mucked about with the chopper for a good hour. love how it handles
