Around about 12 hours ago I posted of Aliens vs Predator's imminent demo release at some stage today. Aegis, GU forum member, points out that it's now on Steam, ready to download. What are you waiting for? Get on it!

Though the Predator seems overpower, the aliens controls feels like your struggling with molasses. The keyboard configuration is down right non intuitive, press Q to run?!

The level that you play on don't seem very consistent. Think if they make it so, C is crouch, shift is run, and it doesn't feel like your struggling just to run up walls well being the Alien it would be much better. Though no story was given why everyone is fighting each other, just shoved into a death match without much explanation.

Just rating this either to buy or not to buy I doesn't really stir any any excitement. Will wait till this goes on sale for $20.

It's a multiplayer demo - why would they give any back-story/intro? Wait for single player in retail for that. The story has already been talked about many times in interviews.

Also; I'm sure you can change your controls? You know, in the options area.

shame the demo only has matchmaker service at the moment :/

On steam it says the following

      Aliens Vs Predator Demo

Such I assume its a demo a preview of their final product. The best bits all rolled together to showcase the product and the work they've done. I did bother going in the controls area but decided to head back into the game because I just didn't want to be screwing around in there.

Compare this to COD:MW2, I loaded it up and didn't have to touch anything. Most games I don't even need to go into the control configuration unless its switching Crouch to Ctrl and Prone to C. Not being a picky person but I was really excited about the game, but now I will just wait until the masses complain or they release the product and I will pic it up in the next sales bin or sale on steam.

dude, griping about bad control configs, when an easy method of changing them has been provided, is retarded. i bet it felt clunky because the mouse sensitivity wasn't set high enough too??

don't get me wrong though, I'm reserving judgement for the game 'til i get a chance to try it out myself.

Erm, the game itself says on start-up that the demo is based on pre-release code and is not a true representation of the final product.

Demo's have never been a true representation of final product.

      Also, you're an idiot.

Touchy touchy, want me to bring you a tissue?

The only thing that has been great about this game is the auto mic on at the start. To hear people call out to their partners or parents to bring them a pie or coffee. Then to hear the people scream out in pain like "WTF".

Epic win on the microphone part. Looking forward to buying bioshock 2, and metro later this year.

      So it's a beta in demo's clothes?

Nah, it's very polished. Deathmatch in AVP is just the opposite of fun.
