World of Warcraft going nowhere fast

It seems the glory days of World of Warcraft's growth are well and truly behind us. Perhaps soon enough there'll be genuine room for a contender - which might just be whatever the next MMO Blizzard is working on. In December of 2008, the game had 11.5 million subscribers. Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime paints a picture of stagnation, telling that today’s numbers are virtually unchanged...
Even more surprising is that Morhaime also notes that 70 per cent of World of Warcraft players fail to progress past level 10 in the game. The forthcoming Cataclysm expansion better have a rabbit in its hat, otherwise we'll no doubt see the first user-base contraction of the massively popular, massively multiplayer title.
