GU launches third Bad Company 2 server

Attachment 6679We've seen high demand for space on our Bad Company 2 servers since the launch of the game - often being full all the way through any given night. Without reserve slots working as intended at this stage, it has been frustrating getting a spot at times.

Community member Korny has made a hefty contribution, deciding to replace that hurt with an extra 32 chances of playing, in the form of a third Gamers-Underground.com server! At the moment it's setup as Conquest, but if there's an overwhelming vote for Rush we'll happily change it.

It's now listed in the website header, where you can keep an eye on who's playing in which server. And because #3 won't be in anyone's favorites or history lists quite yet, it's probably the one to go to if you're heading in with a big crew. GLHF!

The problem is that it's a 32 player server. Team Rush is only 4v4 (8 players) and Squad Team Deathmatch is only 4v4v4v4 (16 players) - so Korny would be wasting his money.

That said, when it's possible to acquire 16 player servers again, GU will have one.

Or when you say 'acquire'; are you literally talking about purchasing a lease / license to run that particular game-mode from EA? (Server hosting stuff confudses me).

I'm talking about signing up a 4th served to run Squad DM full time. But yeah we can give it a go on one if the existing servers one night.

Whats text do we need to add to our .ini files to see 3rd server in favourites? - Tried the server browser no GU servers show up.

Not sure - someone will have needed to favourite it or played on it (recent games list).

#3 doesn't seem to be getting much use as a Hardcore Conquest server. What does everyone think of the game type? Should we switch it?

i think its because people are having issues adding servers to favorites since the patch.
i know me and a few mates from work are, and we are too lazy to edit the file to do it manually
