Attachment 6771You know, I wanted to buy Settlers 7. And I still do, but I'm glad I didn't buy it on launch, and it looks like my purchase may be a ways off yet. A huge number of owners still cannot even play thanks to Ubisoft's highly flawed digital rights management scheme that entails always-on connectivity to their master servers. 2 weeks after the game's release, Ubisoft has told Eurogamer that their "technical teams have made progress but we are not yet able to say that the issue is completely resolved."
Ubisoft experienced similar issues with the launch of Assassin's Creed II, and had attributed them to denial of service attacks. They're clearly not blowing that whistle this time, but have neglected to reveal any real reasoning at all. Further comment from Ubisoft on the matter will be made in The Settlers 7 forum.
