Today we receive information on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. We had already learned that the game will feature 4 player co-op, but adding to that it has been revealed that you can play through it "from the unique perspectives of a high-level bodyguard, an engineer, a civilian and more." Multiplayer will support 8 vs. 8 adversarial matches, combining a total of 4 unique abilities as well as drones...
Essentially what we're talking about with these perspectives and abilities is classes. With the low player cap for multiplayer and the short list of classes, it's clear the development team is aiming for a tight, squad-oriented combat scenario. For those that love the grind, Future Soldier has come to the table with a seamless ranking progression throughout single and multiplayer.
As far as unique class attributes go, we know the recon class will have complete control over aerial drones, the engineer will carry an electro-magnetic pulse weapon, and the sniper will provide full battlefield awareness in the form of a heartbeat sensor relayed to your squad. Commandos will sport the awesome shoulder-mounted missile launcher seen taking out tanks in the live-action teaser trailer.
Oh, and just a reminder before we part ways; all owners of Splinter Cell: Conviction on the Xbox 360 will be privy to the Future Soldier beta.
