Starcraft II beta access when pre-ordered

Attachment 6813Desperate to get into the Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty beta? You'll have to pay a premium to do so, but by pre-ordering through Gamestop.com, you can! However, a polite heads-up to the scheemers out there; once you've placed your order you cannot cancel it.

The game is priced at $60 USD for the standard edition or $100 USD for the collectors edition, and shipping to Australia costs an extra $30 USD. The only real downside here is that you'll wait additional days to play the retail release, as shipping from the USA obviously isn't quite as quick as heading down to your local GAME or EB Games.

Usually when they start doing this open betas aren't very far away. i wouldn't bother getting in until most of my friends are anyway.

FYI, I just e-mailed Gamestop requesting to cancel my pre-order and they did - no questions asked. Time to play some beta.

I've pre-ordered through EB Games now, so I actually get the game on release and not a week later.

Generally speaking, I don't buy games anymore unless they're released on Steam. This however, I will make an exception for.

Besides, I think once purchased, you can download it via Battke.net once attached to your account. At least, that's how it works with Starcraft 1 and the SC2 beta.
