StarCraft II beta ends May 31st

Blizzard have delivered official word that the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta is to wrap up this month, on May 31st. "The beta test will be unavailable for several weeks while we make some hardware and software configuration changes in preparation for the final phase of the beta test and the release of the game." What's that? 'Final phase' of the beta test? It turns out that we won't have to wait for the retail release on July 27th to play again, as the beta will be re-opened a fortnight before it hits store shelves, approximately.
