Just a day after the FOXTEL for Xbox 360 announcement was made, we become privy to a heap of new details thanks to an interview with Microsoft's Andrew Jenkins over at AusGamers. And it's most disappointing. When asked if the service will provide IQ-like functionality, being the pausing and rewinding of live television, Jenkins responded explaining that there will indeed be live TV, but "won't have those features." Furthermore, Jenkins delivered a heavy blow regarding live TV to Australian sports fans...
"AFL and NRL are currently not included because the digital rights are still locked up right now," but it was mentioned there may be a possibility of this when rights are available for purchase next year. Additionally, FOXTEL via your Xbox 360 currently has no partnerships with internet service providers for un-metered content, however this may not hurt as much as envisioned, as the service "won't include HD content".
Pricing information remains a secret, but it's suggested the pricing structure and indeed content options will vary greatly from your traditional FOXTEL service, but are still likely to require a commitment to contract.
