If you live in Japan, on June 10th you'll be graced with patches for various games to get them going in 3D. If you don't, well, you'll just have to wait a bit longer. WipEout HD, Super Stardust HD and Pain are the first titles to go 3D - WipEout HD and Super Stardust for free. It looks like Pain, as well as various future patches, will entail a small charge, likely to be around $5 AUD...
There's no concrete date for Blu-ray 3D compatibility quite yet, but Sony have told us 'by end of year'. It's clear their priority right now is with 3D games as opposed to movies, as indicated by SCE UK Sales Director, Mark Howsen; "I must admit that I think 3D gaming is much more compelling than 3D movies because once you've experienced a game in 3D you'll want to buy a 3D TV. It certainly converted me. It's much more compelling."
