      Tempted to pre-purchase but considering its not coming out for some time, will wait till the system requirements and some reviews are put out first.

      It's out in a couple of days, and it's getting good reviews: Fallout: New Vegas for PC Reviews, Ratings, Credits, and More at Metacritic

      It's now almost twice the price on Steam, though. So those who didn't pre-purchase might as well grab it in retail, where it will likely be cheaper.

      That is down-right creepy.

      On another note; no fucking way am I paying $90USD for this; when Americans only have to pay half the price.

      Indeed. I was lucky enough to get in my pre-purchase before the price hike.

      They might learn that it's a stupid policy one day. But I don't think so.

      Luckily there haven't been any games good enough to make me violate my principles

      ...and this is no exception.

      I'm about 13 hours in and overall I'm really enjoying it. It's just *more* Fallout and while not revolutionary compared to Fallout 3, that can't be a bad thing.

      I have found a bugged side-quest and I've been stuck on a few bits of terrain necessitating a reload, though. While that is a pain in the arse I usually forgive those minor kinds of bugs in games that are just this huge.

      Overall: win.

      i played this for a bit, but i already have fable 3 as a time consuming game atm and also trying to finish force unleashed 2.
      just not enough time
      i hate how games come out all at the same time then you get these lulls for months at a time
      might get back to this one over xmas period

      It's buggy as hell, but awesome despite that. That's what I'm reading arounds the interwebs anyway.

      Haven't started playing if yet myself, but by the time I do, it should be patched up good and proper.

      This 'fixed' dx9 dll solves issues people have had with framerates and stuttering.
      My housemate applied the fix on his Win7 machine and it literally doubled his FPS and removed almost all the stuttering:

      New Vegas mouse acceleration fix:

      ***** The file that originally had to be edited was FalloutPrefs.ini - this has changed with the new Steam patch. The new file is now Fallout_default.ini in your Fallout New Vegas directory. *****

      (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas, or a similar directory)

      These lines;

      fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0
      fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
      fForegroundMouseBase=0
      fForegroundMouseMult=0

      ... need to go in your Fallout_default.ini under controls. Just copy and paste them in there under "bBackground Keyboard=1", or whatever the last line in controls is.
