• Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit in development

E3 is such a wonderful time for gamers. It's just a constant shower of announcements, screenshots and trailers. Some of them known about, some rumored, and then there are some which seem to catch us completely by surprise. Like this announcement and trailer for the re-imagining of racing classic Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Developers of the Burnout series, Criterion, are working on the just announced sequel, and that seems like a perfect fit for the job. While it sounds like they're going to be faithful to the core gameplay mechanics, there's a lot of innication planned such as "Need For Speed Autolog" which claims to be a "revolutionary system that connects friends directly to each other?s games", which sounds like an attempt to seamlessly blend the single player and multiplayer aspects of the title.

While using real cars, it's an arcade game. Brand status takes priority over real world performance.
