• Neverwinter Nights Online soon to be announced

    It's not official, but an impending announcement for a Neverwinter Nights massively multiplayer title is undoubtedly right around the corner. At Gen Con 2010 was an announcement by Atari that there was an upcoming announcement, of which they couldn't talk about - just that it was D&D oriented. Well, Superannuation has discovered a bunch of newly registered domains by Atari, including visitneverwinter.com and playneverwinter.com.

    I'm not a big MMO man at all, but one of my most memorable and enjoyed multiplayer RPG experiences in my two decades of gaming was the Nordock persistent world module for the original Neverwrinter Nights. Needless to say, the prospect of diving back into the NWN universe with friends has gotten me quite excited. Stay tuned for the official word, whenever it arrives.

      I've never been a big fan of the fantasy genre, but I remember a period about 7 years ago where there was a LAN at my place that must have lasted for nearly 2 weeks where all we did was play the Neverwinter Nights campaign. It was awesome fun. I'll be checking this out.

      Part of disliking fantasy is a large reason why I've never been into RPG or MMORPG. NWN was definitely the exception.

      Yeah, I've always preferred Starcraft to Warcraft, EVE to WoW, Mass Effect to KOTOR etc.
