Retarded logic. The best games are the ones that take as long as they need to. And the developers of those games normally have a "when it's done" release date to reflect that. Half-Life, StarCraft etc.

I'd much rather wait another year than have something released just to meet a deadline, and be an absolute mess. Prime example: Black Ops.

of course it will. it's utterly impossible to ship something that complex on such disparate hardware without expecting some bugs. the point is that they will be more likely to trap the most horrendous ones (preferably including the starcraft 2 GPU cooker bug).


forgot to mention: DNF was an edge case - given the 3DRealms interviews over the last few years, talking about all the cool, new, but ultimately pointless extras that were going in (working pool tables! woohoo!), it was utterly clear they weren't building that game from a set design document. If anything I would expect DNF has been held up as an example to dev teams everywhere to plan your shit properly.
