• JD_2020 confirms console Black Ops fixes coming to PC

Owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops have been waiting impatiently for over a week now for word on a patch to finally resolve the GPU hitching problem, as well as the vast array of others. JD_2020, Treyarch's community manager, writes "I wanted to reassure you we're still here and listening, and working on a patch." He wasn't willing to give an ETA, but did document patch time-lines, from information gathering to deployment, which can take up to a month.

Most excitingly, apart from GPU optimisation, is the inclusion of the very long lists of fixes already implemented for console versions, such as the adjustment of various sound volumes and knife lunge distance. JD_2020 says the reason this has taken so long is because "the issues we've addressed to-date on the PC took higher priority over the other fixes the consoles received that the PC hasn't yet."

We are promised an up-to-date "in progress" list of fixes tomorrow, so stay tuned for that information.

Maybe the patch will make me appreciate my level 50, what a grind what with the glitches, CPU and freezes compounding by that good old Darwin Ping

You're just getting old, Crazy. I got to level 50 in around 14 hours of play. And it has been far less exciting in the 40 hours since, but I refuse to go prestige.

Well young Jamie my 50 was in about 30 hours so basically double your time and about double your age so that by the math makes me as good as you...
Give or take some terrible Darwin ping and lag and maybe a little better...rofl

I found a fix for the stuttering too. Turns out it's sound related (on my PC at least). So i disabled my onboard sound and it runs smooth as silk.

Alas my onboard is disabled also, I have found so many possible reasons I am now just waiting for the patch....
