• Power-tripping BioWare admins accidentally restrict game access

A BioWare forum user recently recieved a 72 hour temporary ban for the comment "Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?" Considering BioWare's swift overreaction, that sounds quite likely. Unfortunately due to an account related bug, this abuse of power also resulted in the user being unable toactivate or play a brand-new copy of Dragon Age II during that time.

The best response that BioWare's Standley Woo could come up with was a link to EA's terms of services, pointing out that "EA may terminate access to any online or mobile products and/or EA Services at any time by giving you notice of such termination within the time period specified when you joined the particular EA Service". Not only are the actions and reactions from BioWare on this matter pathetic, but as Slashdot note, sets a very scary precedent; "saying something inflammatory about a developer or publisher could result in the company revoking the player's right to play a game he or she lawfully acquired."

SecuROM, paired with this hefty serving of douchbaggery, seems to have set forums ablaze with claims of boycotting a purchase. Power to the people.
