    In just two days time Rockstar will let loose its next sandbox title, named Red Dead Redemption. Most of you will have heard of it, and if you're not a fan of the Western genre you will probably have already dismissed it, as I did. Perhaps I was a bit hasty to do so, as it now has a Meta review score of 95 on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

    While unlikely to top Grand Theft Auto IV's 98 average, many publications are saying it's the better game. Yes, apparently it's that good, and despite it running in 640 instead of 720 on the PS3 - as per GTAIV - scores have not been affected.     Also out of the bag during a Ubisoft investors call is confirmation that a multiplayer beta can be expected for the third installment of Assassin's Creed, titled Brotherhood, which is due for release later in the year. "We will have a beta test. We have not announced a date yet but it is part of the plans." ...

    It was said during a recent Ubisoft investors call that fifty percent of video games will be 3D within a couple of years. FIFTY!? That seems like a rather large percentage, but it's important to keep in mind they're talking about 3D 'enabled' games, and probably not the ones that actually put effort into making the experience worthwhile. ...

    If you fancy yourself a bit of a fighter, and have been giving Super Street Fighter IV a good run-in, then you should probably get involved with one of the OzHadou tournament qualifiers running in your state during May. Brisbane's OzHadou final will be held at Australia's first and recently opened gaming lounge, Mana Bar, this Monday from 5pm. Even if you're not playing, come along for a drink and the spectacle.     If the international spotlight is more your thing, there's always Evolution Asia-Pacific in Sydney in the final weekend of the month. You may even land yourself a paid flight to Las Vegas to represent the APAC region in SSF4 at EVO 2010. Of course, that's only if you like your chances going up against 2009 world champion, Daigo, who's flying to Sydney to compete in the same EVO APAC qualifying round.
