    i have had 1 or 2 teething issues with it in the last x (x= how many years and months cs1.6 has been out) i find it very stable now and its fine.

    FYI chad its only using 4mb on ram whilst in the background on my pc.

    I've never had a problem with steam. If you have problems with steam taking up resources when windows starts up, then don't auto start with windows. You can also tell it which games to automatically update also. Look under the properties of each game.
