CSS comp kinda died because everyone was too interested in Tekken. Played Deathball and that was more fun thanks for a good lan.

Tekken was probably the best comp they have had in ages. Really brought some life back into DGA. Just make sure you have another tekken comp next lan :0

CS:S comp did die after the first round but with the power going out at that early stage, and most not really wanting to continue there was not really much point.

Although, I would've liked to pwn kate some more.

Overall I thought it was a good LAN. I must, however, stress that next time we will not be so lenient on people that show up and expect to be able to set up their computer without first paying. Unfortunately, the admins at the door cannot be everywhere at once and I, personally, don't like having to chase people up as it disturbs your gaming and stops us from doing other, more important things.

Sounds like people are still trying to get something for nothing.
    Even at the almighty DGA.

I was guilty of walking in and setting my computer up, before paying... I was under the impression that this was allowed and that we could pay after we were set up.

personally, this was one of the best dgas i've ever been to. numbers were good (around 76 i believe), the timetable was good, and the chupa chupa challenge absolutely went OFF, and there was good times to be had by all.

congrats to Brain for taking home the tin of chupa chups, and also congrats to My_Plague and Kyal for taking out the partner challenge - which they did by defeating the feared Brain/Rusty team in the final bout. we had 28 people competing in the challenge, and you have no idea how great it was to hear people screaming in the close matches, like when Urit fought back to win his first bout. Brain has already hit me with a number of excellent ideas for the next one, so the DGA 38 chupa chup challenge should be even better.

also want to thank darwin wireless for their work in setting up a link to the greek school and giving us net access. stay tuned for how this will affect future events. also massive ups to the mesh guys for their efforts in updating the dga server and keeping it running throughout the lan.

kudos to Omega/Hallmark for their two excellent prizes which they kindly donated. The 17" LCD went to Brownie, while i believe the hard drive went to Dan Van Crone. also want to thank Ant (Deus_Ex_Potentia) for his kind donation of an ADSL modem, which went to Brain. thanks also go to Projection Plus for the projector they generously lent us.

on an admin side of things, i want to thank eater for the amazing amount of work he put in before, during and after the lan - it simply wouldn't have happened without him. thanks go to seqo and toasthall for managing the the front desk and controlling the hordes of eager gamers. cheers to neotheo for his excellent game servers, and to phoenix for his tech assistance and general adminning* prowess.

had an absolute blast, and hope to see you all again and dga 38.

Bin runs would have been nice. They were full after 6 or so hours and only got worse. No toilet paper in the toilets was also bad when you need to go.

Gaming was good, Death Ball was a blast.

Back to work now for me.
