Thread: How to: enable Street Fighter III 3rd Strike (3s) training mode

I only just found out how, and it's a treat if you're trying to practice character moves.

Training mode:

1. Download the latest Pugsy's MAME Cheat file (Pugsy's MAME Cheat Page).
2. Place cheat.dat in your MAME folder.
3. Enable Cheats in MAME (Options >> Default game Properties >> Miscellaneous).
4. Start SF3 and press Tab on your keyboard anytime after the legal screen.
5. Scroll down to Cheats >> Add / Disable cheats.

You'll now be inside a cheats menu which can enable infinate time, infinite power, infinite engery and the like (picture attached).

Another cool trick is getting MAME to display your button inputs (so you can see what you're doing wrong)...

Once the game is running press Tab on your keyboard and selecting Input (General) >> User Interface >> Show Button Input. You can bind this command to a controller or keyboard button to make it convenient for the next time you play.
