Thread: Solium Infernum

So, I'm looking to try and get a game of Solium Infernum going.

It's a game of deceit and trickery, backstabbing and grand tactics, duels and insults, armies and artefacts all set on the lower planes of Hell.

It's a turn based strategy game, that uses a play by email system for multi player, meaning you have to wait to find out how your turns progressed.

There is enough room in the game for 6 players.

If it gets going, I'll be keeping a journal of my turns, and what I'm planning, and will post it here at the end so everyone can see how the game unfolded from my point of view.

Be warned.... this game is VERY VERY COMPLEX, there will be rules you don't understand, but they are all in the manual, half the fun is working out how to manipulate the rules into your plan.

What sort of RL time does it demand?

Yeah - I'm interested... but the idea of it being "very, very complex" makes me think it may take more up time than I care to spend. What sort of time does it take you to put together a turn?

A turn takes less then 15 minutes to put together, it's all the waiting between turns, and all the things that can happen that make it complex

I'm going to grab it and might play some SP to get a feel for it.

The ai in single player can't hold a candle to other players. But it's a good way to learn the game

You're right about needing to play with people though, the AI is pretty poor and not nearly bastardly enough.
