Dirt 2 didn't do it for me... I like tarmacmaybe this can fill the void.

This is far removed from Dirt 2... more like Burnout, which I liked. Could be a good bit of fun. But whatever that game we played at Valhalla was still takes the cake for multiplayer racing fun. Flatout 2 or something?
Yup Flatout 2 - wouldn't call it racing though.

News: Split/Second is 'Modern Warfare of racing games' - ComputerAndVideoGames.comSplit/Second's developer has claimed that the title is closer to the likes of Modern Warfare and Uncharted than it is to traditional racing games.
The Disney release, developed by PURE creator Black Rock, allows players to destroy massive environments to damage their opponents.
When CVG asked producer Jason Ried what he saw as the game's natural competition, he said:
"It's a tough one. [Activision's] Blur is obviously competition - it's racing and it's doing things slightly different as well. But we almost feel we're closer to Call of Duty or Uncharted in what we do than other racing games."
CVG got hands-on with the game last week, and caused some serious destruction to our opponents - including smashing an airliner into the track and crunching a giant ferry into another area.
Ried added: "Animation-wise, Split/Second is the most ambitious thing that's ever been done in a racing game. So that is where we come down to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2 comparison - because of these huge set pieces."
Split/Second was selected as Best Racing Game in the Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2009.
Check back on CVG later this week for our full interview with Ried - and a report on our hands-on with the game.
