Been racing for the past few hours with it.
The wheel itself is gorgeous with a leather bound grip and polished steel bridges and paddles. Grabbing the wheel in race position and giving it a wrench back for forth while flicking the paddles feels great, it's super-solid and oozes quality. It's also super-quiet, silent almost, thanks to the helical gears - as opposed to the loud groan of previous wheel spur gears. Very impressive.
The clamping screws are a bit flimsy when being popped in and out, but lock in nice and firm once they're fastened onto a surface. Unlike the GT, the cables connect underneath the wheel, which is a neat improvement too.
It's not all positive, though. The 6 red buttons on the wheel feel a little bit cheap, and as far as wheel buttons are concerned, I much preferred the d-pad and PS3 buttons featured on the Driving Force GT. Now I have to use the keyboard and/or mouse to navigate game menus.
The pedals are a huge, huge step-up from other wheel models, but are almost identical to the already-awesome G25 pedals. The difference now is the ability to shift the pedal plates to accommodate for different sized feet and driving preferences. I'll be moving the clutch further to the left, and then the brake and accelerator to the right to maximise the distance between them (size 14).
I haven't used the stick shifter at all yet, as there's nothing I'm playing right now that will make use of it. But it feels much more solid than the G25, which is a toy in comparison. I can actually see myself using it with Gran Turismo 5, which I wouldn't have with the flaky G25 shifter or the silly Driving Force GT shifter.
All-in-all I'd say it's well worth the money, but only if you can justify the investment. I'll no doubt spend 500+ hours between F1 2010 and Gran Turismo 5, and then an unfathomable number more when rFactor 2 finally lands. While as a product it's worth every dollar regardless ($350-$500 depending on retailer), there's little point throwing this sort of cash at a wheel if you aren't going to put in many, many hours racing.
