    CDMA is going obsolete

Probably interesting for people looking at buying new mobile phones. CDMA is going obsolete within the next 6 months. I am installing the new 3G equipment in the Darwin exchange which will start in about a week or so. Just to let you all know.

    haha - that's brilliant.

I've known this for a while now, and tried to convince the boss of this, who (being a non-technical bloke) swears by CDMA, because "it's the only type of service that will work at my place" (Virginia).

So work purchased 3 weeks ago 2 brand new Nokia CDMA phones.

    Classic.
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean that I

Yeh my dad swears by the them as well, but mainly because of his remote location at times and having a heart condition. He basically required a phone that would not lose signal, as it literally could mean life or death.

If CDMA is phased out all over australia, is there any other gauranteed network coverage for mobile phone users in remote locations, other than sat-phones?
