    Dilemma

...so i really want a hx620 Corsair modular power supply. Lob into my local shop and get a quote for $239 for it. Thinking "Hey, that doesnt sound to bad, but ill do a quick check around town/net"

    $166 from Nintek

so inc freight it is still far cheaper to order it from Perth, have it air freighted overnight, and still save over 50 bucks.

I want to support local business, always have, but it makes it hard to do so when they wont even stay within a 30 dollar margin with Southern retailer.

I probably still will get it locally, pay the premium and have a warm fuzzy feeling knowing im supporting the business, perhaps even easier warranty, but the charm of doing so is quickly fading...
apparently its too long for this forum......

nintek price is good. $239 is obscene, but clearly their volume is far lower so they have to charge a premium just to stay afloat.

Was that price from a certain retailer in Winnellie, by any chance? There is *one* local business that I'm quite happy to not support.

    It's a two-way street, after all.
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean that I

The real question is: What will you do with your extra 50 bucks?

You can buy it cheap and get your warm fuzzy from beer with your budget surplus.

which is what i understand, and like stated i probably will go back to the store in Cas (yeah the one in Winnellie doesnt top my list either) and purchase it. I understand business volume sense and stock trade value at time of purchase, but it doesnt stop me from being a Sad Panda that this is what i must accept.

I'm kind of in the same boat eater. I'd much prefer to buy stuff locally for the convenience and to support local business, but they all want to charge recommended retail price.

Which is out of the question when it comes to computer parts.

    $320 for a 500 gig hdd? I think not.

Please keep in mind guys that sometimes it's not the retailers fault I work for a certain company them who know me know which one and sometimes I find retail places online sell things cheaper than we can get em from our suppliers. The biggest difference is if I sold u something and it needed to be replaced or refunded for whatever reason screaming at me in person would get things done alot quicker than screaming over the phone @ some dude who doesn't even speak english. Some places however really are just rip off merchants ^_^
