    K-Rudd Poll tomorrow for leadership

Tomorrow 9pm EST, poll to be had whether K-Rudd or Gillard takes control of the country.

Either way still a shit party, and australia isnt ready for a female at the head. I can see a land slide next election.

Thing i hate with this, is whilst i didnt vote for K-Rudd he was voted in by the people .. where as gillard wont be .. if the leadership is fought and changed an election should be held straight away .. if then gillard wins so be it .. however i dont like this.
Flame me all you want, God already hates me!!

It was lose-lose with Rudd & Abbott, but Gillard will have my vote, if for no other reason but to keep Abbott out.

And I thought it was 9am tomorrow?

Correct 9am and I think Gillard will get up and save Labor in the election.
GU - giving everyone the freedom to post whatever they want...
so long as we can all pay them out if they missed an earlier thread on the same topic!

In 2007 I remember posting about this point in the then election thread. I remember a lot of people supporting the labor party then... I never have and never will, but beside the point, I said there are two things PEOPLE need to do when they get to an election...

    1. Vote on behalf of Australia, not your own selfish ass.
    2. Vote for the PARTY, not the man.

Kevin was idolised, which was the problem... much like Obama in the USA.

People voted in Rudd, yes... but they really voted in Labor. We reap what we sow. Everything occuring now is well documented within Australia's constitution. Hell, they were talking about doing this with Costello and Howard before the last election... and if they had maybe Libs would be in power now.

In addition, with the clown Rudd out of the office, Gillard may be in, but she's over opinionated, and self important. She won't be significantly better. Abbott may have foot in mouth disease sometimes, but the reality is he's generally very frank. You may not want to hear it, but he more or less speaks more truth then any of the Labor party heads.

EDIT: The leader of a political party is voted in by the political party he/she is representing.

That's right! Exactly why I said, you vote in a party not a person! Almost all politcal speaches are written by writers/scripters, then passed down through fact checkers and other checkers, until it lands in the PM's hands... He or She (now) then reads through does a check and says Yes or No and will go from it.

Yes they deliver a line, because they REPRESENT a PARTY.

Wow, uncontested... (previous figure taken from ABC... turns out it wasn't factual).

they need to be able to think for themselves though, otherwise no-one will have confidence in them - abbot comes across as being as capable as Rob Sitch's Jeff Kennett

You're right... but to think the leader dictates where the party goes is simply wrong. All the choices Rudd made for Australia were checked and agreed to by internal votes by the Labor party.
