    Iphone Settings for Overseas

i'm going oversea shortly and want to know what settings i should be modifying so that i don't get any crazy phone or data charges while i'm overseas.
    Recommendations would be fantastic.

i only need to phone to be able to receive and make voice calls and sms's occasionally. i dont need to have internet on the move or anything similar.

put your phone in a box.

    Leave that box at home.

    Go overseas.

    No OS charges.

Settings -> General -> Network -> Data Roaming "Off".

The rest should be fine, as far as i'm aware. You will have network coverage via 3rd party carriers, so you will still be subject to over-seas rates.
At least that's what the Telstra guys told me when I asked about my iphone and going overseas.
