    Fireworks injuries

So coz I'm so unTerritorian and won't be letting off any fireworks tonight, I thought if I got bored of watching everyone else act like idiots with theirs, I might go to the Emergency Ward at RDH and document the injuries. I guess my question is, do you think RDH would mind? I would make sure the patients consented to photos being taken, of course. I'm sure the RDH staff hate fireworks night so I'm thinking if I asked them they would be ok with it. I would probably use the photos on my blog and on FB, and give them to people wanting to ban fireworks so they can use the photos as justification if they like. I would ask the hospital but they're probably too busy doing hospital stuff to answer my petty questions.

What do you guys think? Too controversial? Am I likely to get into trouble?

Its mainly so long as the patients and the hospital give it the ok. I can see issues with photos containing client information, or capturing a worker not performing the correct procedure or method of treatment. Also you may get in the way of medical staff and they may not have the staff capacity to have someone walk you through... There are just some issues I could see arising. I don't think its controversial either way. As too if you might get in trouble, make sure you buy/attain some fresh scrubs, 3rd degree burns from anything are very prone to non-patient microfloria infection. You dont want to be responsible for someones skin graft failing.

But as you have said, it may be wise to approach them on a basis that you want to promote safer play with fireworks.

Fireworks are everywhere here, in Chicago and much of Illinois, surprisingly they are banned. But coming 4th of July like last year, they will be everywhere. I did see someone get lit up by one at the Indy500 last year and that actually put me off from letting any off. As for banning them, you'll end up like my state, Victoria, the nanny state

Shh it's natural selection in action. Let the bogans kill themselves and some innocent bystanders. Weeds out the slow and the stupid

On a related topic: I realise it's Territory day, but does anyone else think it's a bit stupid waiting until everything is nice and tinder dry before unleashing idiots with firecrackers?

Try doing something original that isn't newscorp a-typical hype & scare.

Not to mention I can see the hospital staff telling you to GTFO. One of the most busy nights of the year and some busy body trying to get in the way on purpose. Not going to end well.

110 speed limits, prime example of why we had division of powers in the first place and not blanket laws all round.

Yeah I thought that, but I wasn't even planning on being in the wards. Can always take pics in the waiting room. And it would probably benefit the hospital. Nobody really sees the kinds of injuries that fireworks night brings.
