    CS 1.6 is indeed final!
Here is news from CS Nation-

In case you haven't noticed, Counter-Strike 1.6 is indeed final. Final in that leagues and everyone else will now be using it. It may be updated, however, which is one of the major features of Steam. The developers at VALVe will be able to balance the game's major changes without doing another major release.

Steam is and always will be required to play CS 1.6.

    Bah ok people.
I'll think you'll find there are 4 serves up now. 2 of which are run under the admin team of Sabaki.

    The other 2 are GU#1 and a wc3 server.

As far as I can see there is no 1.6 server about. That IP Wrathlon is about as good as trying to connect to steam.

    Anyway just wondering

Been trying to figure that out, i guess anyone whos played with the 1.6 dedicated server install will probably have a better idea.

When you connect to steam you have a unique ID (I think this is run from your email address), which i guess you could use in a similar way to a wonid.

    # name userid uniqueid frag time ping loss adr
    #1 ".|sB|. Jono" 720 STEAM_0:1:5874 0 00:42 72 0

This is taken from using "status" within cs. Under uniqueid, mine is "STEAM_0:1:5874". This would be simple used in a simliar way to how a wonid was used i guess.

To be honest im not really sure, but thats just what I can figure out.

I'd say wc3 mod would be pretty much dead unless it was modified to suit the new 1.6. Again don't take my word as im only guessing.

Anyone had a play with the server install?
