We should all know the impossibility of filtering the Internet. Which our current Govt. would love to save the children and make a world first. Money being spent is easily past $60M, some news places saying $189M as part of the anti-porn crusade.

I'm currently drafting a document to send to our local labor rep, nubstick Conroy, etc. I recommend everyone else do the same.

So yeah, don't send out emails, print it out something and send it to your local Labor rep and Conroy. Otherwise it'll just go right over the top of their heads, like everything else technological.

Why not redivert those funds into improving our infrastructure so we don't have such damn expensive internet... Whats with the huge conservative push... I expected this of the last government...

Is the Aussie public really going to swallow that though? I can see the bleeding hearts and irresponsible parents using the internet as an electronic babysitter will think its fantastic but I really can't see the rest of the country swallowing being told what they are allowed to view and whats considered "Appropriate" for them.

Sorry but beyond getting elected do you really think the government gives a shit what you think?

Currently, to pass legislation in the Senate, the government needs the support of every non-Coalition senator.

Including, drumroll please, Senator Steve Fielding of the Family First party. They've got a pretty relentless anti-porn thing going on. Porn makes baby Jesus cry, y'see? And despite some pretty pointed remarks from Jesus Christ, Messiah and King of the Jews about staying out of worldly affairs and rendering unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and knocking on the door rather than passing laws to ban doors, these god-botherers feel it's their sacred duty to drag everyone else kicking and screaming to Christ. By turning off the porn.

Anyhow. It's a suckup to Fielding. And it's ****ing shameful.

Anything via email doesn't get read generally because they probably get spammed with "lol kkk u suck at internets, cos it goes like dis".

You really have to sign and write an address on the front. The amount of effort you put in goes back the other way too, mostly.

From what has been posted on sites i have found through OCAU site - and the way they are worded its more like its gonna happen.
There is no maybe - and we bin gotta suck it up, cause teh trial in tasmania was like .02% successful, so we all live our lives happily knowing the government is looking after us like the little 10 yr olds we all apparently still are.
