Thread: Bill Gates talks iPad

Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates has called Apple's iPad a "nice reader" but claims netbooks are the way forward. Speaking briefly to BNET's Brent Schlender, the Microsoft Chairman, who had admittedto being in awe of the iPhone on first release, saw nothing in the iPad to really excite him.

I actually disagree. Netbooks are fail - a good tablet is a far better solution for that intermediate use. Shame about the iPad.

i would've put the cube on the list in place of the color classic - the classic was an awesome machine. and OS9? wtf? I *loved* that OS! never had a single issue with it and I flogged the crap out of it with my G3 and 5 monitors.

There’s a backlash in the tech community against Apple’s iPad. Perhaps because the geeks and tech-heads are disappointed the iPad didn’t meet their every expectation. I wonder though if it isn’t just the result of a lack of imagination
