    Bigponds new sneakiness

Now I can't confirm which plans this applies to but I would assume most of them, at work and home I've upgraded to Bigponds Elite Liberty 200GB plans, the mother of all Bigponds plans with all the bells and whistles well so I though!

At work last week our modem was playing up so a quick restart to fix the problem and then shortly after we noticed our connection speed was only 8mbps, before the restart it was connecting at 19mbps, I really though nothing of it, just a shitty connection.

A few days later at home and a modem change, I went from 12 to 8 mbps, WTF, coincidence?

A quick WTF dude where's my internet call to Bigpond and I find out when my plan changed I was automatically changed from ADSL2+ to ADSL, they tell you sweet FA and just do it, with a bit of whinge and no extra cost I was changed back to ADSL2+.

It seem that for some reason your current connection stays as is until a disruption as in modem restart.

Once again thieving, but this time it's bandwidth.

I called them friday and said it would take around four working days to rectify the problem as someone need to go out to the exchange and flick a switch or whatever, just checked my connection and it is already back up yo speed.

That would imply someone had to flick a switch to change it in the first plus and I doubt anyone at telstra would do that sort work, unless a)the ACCC is about to tell them too or b)they can bill someone for it.
