Thinking of switching Internode plans but don't want to shoot myself in the foot...

At the moment I'm on Internode's Home Extreme 30 plan. Unfortunately the fastest sync speed my modem gets is around 600kps:

I found this coverage map on the TPG website and I guess it explains why. I'm assuming that the TPG and Internode DSLAMs will be in the same physical location which would be my local Telstra exchange and I'm guessing that's what the dot in the middle of this map is. As you can see I couldn't be much further away:

So here's my thinking (I want to know if anyone out there can see any glaring errors with it):

I figure if I'm paying a premium for hi-speed ADSL2+ but I'm not getting it then I could change to their Small Easy ADSL2 plan and get 5 times the download quota for only $10 more per month and still be getting the exact same connection speed anyway.

Ideally I'd just like a faster connection but I think that's impossible thanks to a combination of geography and the laws of physics so I might as well switch to a plan that is better value. Or am I being a total n00b and by switching plans I'll probably start getting like 150kbs or something?

    Making a difference.

Nope, you should have no change to your physical port at all, it would merely be a quota change handled at Internode.
It would be a magic quota increase and should happen instantly at your plan rollover.

Note that the "EASY" plans also count upload data if that matters to you at all.
Yes, I do know it's the internet. No, that doesn't mean spelling and punctuation are illegal.

Indeed, your sync speeds and download speeds should remain exactly as they are now.

I'd be jumping onto the t-shirt plan bandwagon, pronto.
