    cpu wrong clock speed

had a power outage the other day, and now my x6800 core 2 extreme is only running at 1.6GHz.
    It should be 2.93GHz.

reset the bios, still no go.

    any suggestions.

A spike may have effected the motherboard, but my suggestion would be to manually specify what the CPU is running at. If when you've done that there are still problems, then you'll likely need to be replacing components.

    Reflash Bios and clear cmos

If it is an nvidia based motherboard you could play with Nvidia tools.
