Broadband phones? That them thar black magic...

Hi guys, I have a question to see if anyone can help me out RE these broadband phones.

A relative overseas has sent me one of these units where you have a box you plug into your router and a cordless phone. The box talks to the phone independently of the router. When I try and place calls I can't hear the other person, though sometimes they can hear me.

Searching the net has brought up stuff about port 5060 and having to unblock it or setup port forwarding (Which I tried by forwarding port 5060 to the ip of the box described above) but still to no avail.

Has anyone else had any experience with these or know the right search terms to use to get more info?

    Cheers

To rule out a port forwarding problem, place the IP of the phone in the routers DMZ while you test other shit. At least then you know it can't possibly be port related.

Yeah Wrathlon, good idea I'll give that a shot.

Knight the only problem is it's a korean product, and whilst I can speak Korean, trawling through Korean forums/manuf. sites is harder lol.
