    Exporting emails from Hotmail/Gmail

    Hi guys,
    Yet another help thread from me! My friend wants to export her entire Gmail and Hotmail inbox so she can back them up on her computer. Attachments aren't important, but preferable. She would of course like to do this as efficiently as possible, and have her emails in HTML format or some other easily readable format. Any suggestions?

    Gmail's easy, just load it all to thunderbird (autodetect mode should find the gmail settings and choose imap) and backup the profile directory. Hotmail, nfi.

    Of course that's not in HTML format, but it is backing it up.

    Hotmail is the same. Just get the POP settings from MS website. I believe HM supports POP now... it didn't used to.

    yeah although i formatted and mounted my hotmail to outlook again a fortnight ago i had to grab a live connector or something similar from ms to do so. but yeah just load it all in outlook and export to pst.
