Lightbulb Who is still using Firefox, and why?

Firefox has been hanging onto the top spot amongst GU visitors for quite some time. The current top 5:

    1. Firefox 37.23% (28,600 visits last 28 days)

    2. Chrome 33.20% (25,502 visits last 28 days)

    3. Internet Explorer 17.10% (13,137 visits last 28 days)

    4. Safari 6.15% (4,723 visits last 28 days)

    5. Opera 3.07% (2,356 visits last 28 days)

Awesomely, IE has dropped below a quarter - which I imagine is mostly search engine traffic.

I use chrome for general browsing. But I still use firefox for more secure browsing, noscript + adblock, and some random browser plugins.

I use FF due to web dev toolbar being fucking sweet. and firebug for FF has a coldfusion extension that breaks all the debugging shit out into totally handy coolness.

that said i use chrome, ie, and safari for testing too. But FF is my main.

Started using firefox when i was working in web dev like my mate aegis... but now I'm just used to it and it seems a lot more stable than the other browsers available. IE gives me the craps due to crashing and issues running 64bit native and the interface on chrome just doesn't sit right...

I also use safari, just cos that is on the iphone/ipad and MacBook Pro

I too am a developer and designer. The minimalist interface, lean operation and snappy performance make Chrome the winner for me. I think Chrome's default inspector is mostly as good as Firebug, too.

Last time i used chrome it had issues with memory and would chew alot more for some weird reason. Plus i found ff would handle heaps of tabs without crashing. 14-20tabs.

My 65 year old father and my girlfriend both often have two dozen tabs open at the same time as well. Just sayin'.

On a serious note, I've noticed no resource or crash issues with Chrome regardless of the number of tabs.
