It's pretty simple really. I've got a Telstra MF626 modem. It has the drop out issue from UMTS to HSDPA or what ever. So I looked it up and there is a firmware update. But ZTE took it off the net. For good reason. I had firmware T03, never heard of it. But most people complained of issues with M01. And here is the lesson, you can not go from T03 to M02 no matter how hard you try. Though if you try once, like I have, it will brick the device and you have a perfectly good excuse to go by a better 3g modem...
