Game Structure
This ladder will operate under the following game rules; these rules apply in addition to the general GameArena Ladder rules set out here
Game Team Size
Gameplay is 12 v 12
Once a game has been accepted by a defending team, it must be played at the scheduled time, or a forfeit will be given against the team that fails to play.
Each team requires at least nine players to begin play; teams with less than nine players after 10 minutes have elapsed are deemed to have forfeited and the result must be recorded as such. Any play that continues past the 10 minute mark, regardless of whether more players show up, does not change the forfeit result. It is the responsibility of the team captain to enter the result as a forfeit by the other team. If a referee is present, they will not enter the result – only confirm the forfeit if the opposing team disputes it.
Game object
Win a four round contest on the selected map by collectively outscoring your opponent over the four rounds played. Winning a round requires your team to either force the opposing team to run out of tickets, or have the most remaining tickets at the end of the timeframe for the round. Remaining tickets for each team after each round won is calculated to a combined total. EG:
Round 1 Team A (allies) 120 Team B (Axis) 0
Round 2 Team A (Axis) 0 Team B (Allies) 20
Round 3 Team A (Allies) 10 Team B (Axis) 40
Round 4 Team A (Axis) 10 Team B (Allies 60
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total Score Team A Tickets 140 Team B Tickets 120
Team A wins because they have the most tickets left when added up at the end of the match. Individual round wins are not relevant.
The challenger always plays Round 1 as Axis . The teams will play the selected map twice as each side, alternating after each round (eg, playing as axis, allies, axis, allies in that order or vice versa). Each round is played until 30 minutes has expired, excluding pre-match time, or until ticket count has expired (whichever occurs first).
The match booking is period is 2.5 hours. The defending team will forfeit the match if this time limit is exceeded. The Defending team may lodge a dispute with GameArena if the match was not completed because of time-wasting by the Challenger. GameArena will determine a ruling and advise the teams.
The team captains shall record scores at the end of each round by taking screenshots. The screenshots must clearly show all players from both teams and the score. The Captain of the Challenging team must enter the result within 1.5 hours of the match conclusion. The Challenger will forfeit the match if the deadline is missed. The defending team must accept or dispute the result with 24 hours. If no action is taken by the defending team then the result entered by the challenger is automatically accepted.
If the server crashes before two rounds are completed then the match is a non-event. Both teams status will be set to free with no result recorded. In such cases the captain from the challenging team should dispute the match, noting in the reasons that the server crashed. If a referee is present, they will not enter the result – only confirm the server crash if the opposing team disputes it.
If the server crashes and two or more rounds have been completed, the result will be taken from the score at the end of the second round. In the example above, if the server crashed at any time after the second round was complete but before the end of the match, Team A would defeat Team B 120-20. This result is recorded by the captain of the challenging team in the normal way. If a referee is present, they will not enter the result – only confirm the server crash if the opposing team disputes it.
Challenge Height
The challenge height is 50% of the challenging team's current ranking, or four positions - whichever is greater. If your team's current ranking is an odd number, the ladder will round down when calculating your challenge height. For example,
20th ranked clan may challenge 10th ranked clan (50% of 20 = 10, so 10 ranks 'up' from 20)
21st ranked clan may challenge 11th ranked clan (50% of 21 = 10.5, rounded down = 10, so 10 ranks 'up' from 21)
6th ranked clan may challenge 2nd ranked clan (4 ranks up from 6)
Maps
TBA
Selection process The challenger chooses three maps. The defender eliminates two, leaving the map to be used for the match.
Important Settings
Time limit: 30 minutes + 2 minutes prematch
Friendly Fire: Full damage
Tickets: 100%
Player Substitutions
Teams may make substitutions with members of their team at any time during a match including during a round. At no time during the game is a team permitted to have more than 12 players in the server. Substitutions are to be accomplished by removing a player from the server before the substitute joins the server.
'Mercenary' players are not permitted; using 'mercenary' players falls under the general provisions for cheating as outlined in the General Rules of play.
Cheats
No Cheats are to be used in the GameArena DC Ladder in any shape or form. Should any player be found Cheating for any team, the whole team will be removed from the ladder. It is the captains' responsibility to ensure that their team complies with this rule. Should a team or one of its players be found Cheating, GameArena may (at its discretion) ben that team permanently from all GameArena dedicated servers including Public servers and competition servers.
Cheats and Cheating includes, but is not limited to: map hacking (wall hacks, etc), wireframe drivers, launching denial of service attacks or packet flooding an opponent or the server, models that extend beyond reasonable bounds, aimbots, speed hacks, or any other gameplay altering cheats.
Use of Referees
We encourage teams to play their games by themselves, however, at any point during a challenge or on the expectation of a challenge, you may request a GameArena Referee to be present (but not participating) during your game. You must abide by ALL referees' instructions at all times during the game. The referees' word is final.
Should your team be disruptive during the game after repeated requests by the referee to stop, you will forfeit the game. Should you continue to do this your team will be removed from the ladder.
Team captains are required to enter results regardless of the presence of a referee.
A request for a Referee is exactly that - a request. We do not guarantee a Referee will be available to administer your match; where possible, we encourage teams to be responsible and perform administrative tasks themselves.
Ladder Timeline
This ladder will run for a total of 12 weeks. At the end of that period, the ladder will be closed, The top eight teams at that time will then play the finals season. The finals will have the following format.
Preliminary Finals
PF1: 1 (Defender) v 4 (Challenger)
PF2: 2 (Defender) v 3 (Challenger)
PF3: 5 (Defender) v 8 (Challenger) : Loser Eliminated
PF4: 6 (Defender) v 7 (Challenger) : Loser Eliminated
Semi Finals
SF1: Loser of PF1 (Defender) v Winner of PF3 (Challenger)
SF2: Loser of PF2 (Defender) v Winner of PF3 (Challenger)
Finals
F1: Winner of PF1 (Defender) v Winner of SF2 (Challenger)
F2: Winner of PF2 (Defender) v Winner of SF1 (Challenger)
Grand Final
GF: Winner of F1 v Winner of F2
If a new version of Battlefield 1942 or Desert Combat is released during ladder play, GameArena may (at its discretion) cancel all current challenges and prevent new challenges for a short period. If this happens, GameArena may extend the ladder season to compensate for this suspension.
During Match
Spectators are not allowed within the actual server. Once a match starts, no one will be allowed to pause a game or otherwise disrupt the technicalities of the game (i.e. warping, leaving the server, pausing, etc.). Repeated disruptions of this nature will result in a forfeit.

Thanks matt.
It would be nice to have some spare people up our sleeve. Do any of our new members have broadband, BF and a GA log on?
Or does anyone know anyone down south with cable who wants to play for us. I may have one of my old work mates who could be interested.
