so what's the deal? is it a no go? as i wanted to have a big lan to go to.
my parents said i can go to one lan over the holidays and a week long one sounded good!

I'm working on it, but there's a severe lack of interest, If people show enough interest WITHOUT turning a topic into a bullshit flame post, then I'll try even harder to make it go ahead. Look for more info this DGA. ^_^

At the moment we have Landed attenders and DGA attenders, not a whole heap go to both, because they cant get over their fucking pride (you know who you are).

If you managed to secure a good location, I'm sure we could get 100 people. DGA + Landed + More first timers.

OK ppl hows this for an idea DGA and LANded help out Bio Hazard and hold Darwin biggest LAN, during the next school holidays. That way DGA and LANded can still hold there normal LANs (maybe) but with everyone working ( I mean everyone) together on this we can pull it off. I am sure Steve has a few great ideas and with DGA and LANded helping out should be a hugh turnout.

any ideas from you guys ? ( I havent discussed this with the LANded group or Steve yet, just an idea i came up with )

So any Ideas, tips and suggestions. Anyway flamming or none helpful messgages will be deleted.

Make sure there is at least 15 CS clans competing, with prizes for 1st, 2nd AND 3rd place.

you are right tn1 went to landed 2 so it not so much him but layoric or anyother clan IX members go to DGA and visa versa

True, i haven't attended a DGA lan as yet, unfourtunetly i haven't been able to make it either of the times, and i have already said to tn1 i am going to this next DGA and HOPEFULLY will be able to bring [BOB] in full force to see if we are just total flukes in CS or if we can actually play =p.

Rec man, i know we all want this, but you've gotta understand it's not always possible, i don't know why you are blaming the organisers here, true it is our 'fault' that we can't do some things mainly due to not getting enough people, but also you gotta remember DGA and Landed hold these events so people can have a good lan. *slap* so sit down, and stop your bitchin. =)

As For the joint DGA/Landed/Biohazard, tn1 is right, i rekon if we a lot of people helped out in the organising and running of the actual lan, than we could pull it off, the major problem is sponsership, i'm still waiting to hear back from a couple of places, but the bigger the lan, the more chance people will get sponsership. Sponsership will make people like rec happy for a bit. =) that we he can win all the prizes.


For a LAN of this size, the places to hold it would be either the Darwin race course function room place or maybe one of the bigger fuction rooms of the MGM or one of the Hotels. I can go around to check the prices of these places, since i have no 100mb hub for people to use, but you can use all my 10mb ports.
1x24 port 10mb
1x5 port 10mb
1x16port 10mb ( getting for $70).

I will talk to tn1 and steve about this at the next DGA in detail, hopefully things will be on the way to happening after DGA 4.
If the NT can have a 100-200 person lan, then we might finally be able to show australia we games too =).

Good to see some idea's actually flowing instead of stupid arguments and comments.
Has anyone approched Telstra, Oputus, car yards, K-mart, BigW, Woolies, etc. Just because they don't sell computers doesn't mean they don't like cheap sponsership. Ask for something small $100-$200 and it will keep them happy-interested. Even offer say a staff member free entry.
