I was interested to know if anyone knew of
any good locations for lan parties in darwin
for less than 20 ppl, like with a/c, tables, sufficient power etc, without costing
fifteen billion dollars for pretend air
    conditioning power consumption??

Mostly community centres, the Darwin Public Library, Its hard to find the right location . just ask Layoric or you could go all out and try the Bigger Hotels around darwin .. but they cost an arm and a leg

You could try the uni dorms they are free, and comfortably hold 20 people.

sounds good, but to use uni rooms for free you have to associate a club with the student onion, and they have some seriously average rules and requirements which are more work than its worth.

we've been having regular lans for a while now, maximum of 15 ppl and rising, but so far all we've done is morning till evening.
But we're considering an all nighter. Don't quite have the numbers to keep a decent attendance for a whole weekend :P
we're trying to start a club with the student union now, but its gonna take ages cos they only approve clubs on the 14th!!!
been busting our balls trying to find a place for this weekend, but we're screwed im afraid.

bluddy student union, they r sticking with the $10 an hour for a/c!!!
if you work this out with 14c per kWh, this means they are running a 97 hp air conditioner
who needs a fridge with that running????

THat's a pretty good price actually... If there's no other costs involved, that'd be an ideal location! ^O^

Why not align with one of the existing LAN's that r held every month or so.
Or is this supposed to be a exclusive club.
